We’ll use this page to collect a bunch of fun things to do around Columbus while you’re here. Many of the events are in the Short North Arts District where just walking around can be fun!
The Washington Post has an excellent story celebrating Columbus’ food, and featuring The North Market, which is adjacent to The Hampton Inn–one of our hotels. If the prospect of seeing Andrew and Jessica tie the knot isn’t enough to get you excited about coming to Columbus, perhaps this story will do the trick.
Here’s a fantastic blog celebrating the quirky, the unique, and the beautiful around Columbus. Visit it as you prepare for your trip: http://ilovecolumbus.tumblr.com/
Friday, July 1st
Friday is Red, White & Boom (Columbus’s Fireworks Extravaganza). It may make it tricky to find a hotel if you’re hoping to come in on Friday night. But if you like fireworks, patriotism, & Springsteen’s Born in the USA, you’re in luck!
Saturday, July 2nd
The first Saturday of every month is the Gallery Hop in the Short North (the part of town where the North Market is located). After rehearsing Sunday’s big event, we plan on hanging out at a bar or two later in the evening. We hope you’ll join us.
Sunday, July 3rd
What, the wedding isn’t enough? details…
Monday, July 4th
The town where we live, Bexley, OH, puts on a full day of adorably awesome 4th of July events include a 5K, parade, community block party, and fireworks just 5 minutes East of Downtown Columbus. We plan on joining anyone who’s interested at the block party in the afternoon and then watching the fireworks for the first time as married folks.
